Office Hours
Drop-in office hours are available Tuesdays, 1:00–2:00 PM in Shields Library, room 360. Appointments are not required, but filling out the office hours intake form ahead of time will help us connect you to the right expert for your question.
Please note that drop-in office hours are not offered during university holidays and academic breaks and finals week. DataLab may only be accessed during Shields Library business hours.
Location
DataLab is located on the 3rd floor of Shields Library at the UC Davis campus.
Directions within Shields Library
Shields Library, 3rd Floor
- Enter the main doors of the library and go up the central flight of stairs in the library.
- At the split in the stars, continue up the stairs to the right.
- Turn left through the double doors at the top of the stairs.
- DataLab will be at the end of the corridor.
We recommend the elevator in the southeast quadrant of the library for the most direct route.
- Enter the main doors of the library and go to the right of the main stairs in the lobby.
- Continue along the corridor to the elevators at the back of the library.
- Take the elevator to the 3rd floor. When exiting the elevator, the DataLab classroom is immediately to the right, while the lab and conference room entrance are around the corner on your left.
Entering the DataLab
During business hours, you can enter different DataLab spaces as indicated in the floor plan below.
A: Lab (Shields 370) entrance is on the far end on the right. Please use the classroom, and not this entrance, if you are coming to attend a workshop or class.
B: Conference Room (Shields 362) entrance for meetings is to the right of the exit sign.
C: Classroom (Shields 360) entrance is on the far end of the library near the water fountain and the elevators. We teach workshops, hold office hours and host seminars in this space.
If the entrance is locked, swipe your keycard (if you are a DataLab affiliate) or ring the doorbell.
